Begins and Ends Monday, January 21, 2019

Shevat Day 15 in the Jewish calendar is the day that marks the beginning of the “New Year” for the trees. Tu Bishvat is not a holiday, but the festival is celebrated with planting trees by school students, talking about the importance of forest conservation. In modern times it is celebrated by eating various fruits associated with the Land of Israel. In Tu B’Shvat we must renew personal growth, like the trees in removing the moisture and nutrients from the soil.
